How to Write a Prompt in 8 Steps: Master the Language of AI

Getting high-quality results from ChatGPT, Midjourney, or Claude takes more than typing a question: it takes a genuinely well-constructed prompt.
The 8 Steps
1. Define the persona, tell the AI who it should be ("You are a professional SEO writer"). 2. Clarify the task with specifics, not vague requests. 3. Add context, audience, goal, publication. 4. Include an example of the style you want. 5. Specify formatting, bullet points, headings, length.
6. Set constraints, word count, required keywords, tone limits. 7. Define the tone explicitly (formal, conversational, persuasive). 8. Humanize and experiment, ask for natural flow, then iterate on phrasing and order to see what improves the result. This last step is what practitioners call prompt hacking.
Writing a great prompt is like giving clear directions to a talented assistant. The clearer you are, the better the results you'll get.
